Waves is a generative ambient piece: a field of drifting stars that respond to your cursor, paired with a synthesized four-voice drone. Four bodies orbit each other continuously; each one's position sets its voice's pitch. Drag any body to retune its pitch directly. Scroll or pinch over a body, or press plus or minus while it's focused, to zoom it in or out and change its own volume; scroll or pinch anywhere else, or press plus or minus without a body focused, to zoom all four at once. Every combination is quantized to a consonant scale, so there's no way to make it sound bad. It relies on precise cursor and touch gestures, so it works best on a tablet or larger screen.
